[Music] Welcome to this Pixtope tutorial. In this video, we'll take a look at Pixtope Cloud.

How to set up a user account and

    00:17

how to manage licenses. There are two types of Pixtop cloud accounts, admin and user.

An admin account is used to manage users and allocate licenses. We provide one admin account per

    00:33

customer. A user account can have licenses assigned to it and is used to access Pixtope's products.

Let's take a look at the admin account first. When a new admin account is created, a verification email will be sent to the address

    00:49

provided. Follow the instructions to set up the account.

You will then be able to log in to Pixtop

    01:05

Cloud. Upon login, you'll be met with the overview page.

The overview shows the number of users, the number of unassigned licenses available, along with a list of licenses that are next due to expire. The user page lists all created users

    01:22

and the licenses assigned to them. The products page lists all purchased Pixotope licenses.

The downloads page is where you can download the latest version of Pixeltope. The package includes

    01:37

everything you need, including director and the editor. There's no need to download Unreal Engine from the Epic website.

A set of example projects is also available to download.

    01:56

The documentation page allows you to download the Pixeltope user guide and the support page allows you to create and manage support tickets. Now, let's set up a new user.

To create a new user, go to the

    02:12

user section on the left, then click on add new user. You'll be prompted to add a name and contact details for the

    02:29

    user. Then click invite user.

An email will be sent to the address provided to continue the process. They will be asked to verify their account.

    02:59

As a user, you are met with a different overview when logging into Pixtope Cloud. Here you can see what's new with a preview of the release notes for the latest version of Pixtope, as well as the licenses currently in use.

The latest content lists all the example

    03:15

projects available. Licenses lists all the licenses assigned to the user.

And then downloads, documentation, and support pages are the same as an admin account with one difference. That is the user will only see tickets they have raised

    03:30

in the support page. With a user created, it is now possible to allocate licenses to them.

Click on the user from the list. Click assign licenses and here you can allocate a license from the available

    03:47

list. Here you can see what licenses you have purchased, their expiration date if subscriptionbased and the number of licenses currently available, meaning they have not been allocated to another user.

Click the plus button to allocate a license to the user and click okay.

    04:06

Going back to the user page, the assigned licenses appear in this list. Here you get a bit more information.

Status indicates whether a license is still valid. In use on indicates what machine the license is running on, and mode indicates whether

    04:22

it's an online or offline license. For our graphics products, there are three main license types.

Live ARVS and XR are full production licenses. The license grants access to

    04:38

the main Pixel Type components including Pixel Type Director and Editor. The license also includes one track camera and video routting.

The artist license is for designers where no video routting or camera tracking is required. The license includes Pixtope director and

    04:56

editor and control used for remote setup and control when an engine is not needed. giving access to director only.

This license is ideal for use as a server machine. Licenses can be reassigned with

    05:12

ease. If you need to move a license from one user to another, you can simply go to the user who currently has the license, hover over the right hand side of the table, and click unassign.

    05:28

If the license is currently in use, you will need to release the license before you can unassign it. Then you are free to go to assign the license to a new user.

You may notice that under mode, all licenses here are online licenses.

    05:45

This is the default mode. An internet connection is required on the machine running Pixtope in order to use these licenses.

When starting up director, the license will be verified in the cloud before access is given. It is acknowledged that it's not always possible to connect to the internet to

    06:01

verify a license. In this scenario, there are two options.

First, if it is possible to initially connect to the internet in director, click on your account email to open the menu. I can see here that my

    06:16

license is currently set to online mode. I can then select switch to offline mode.

I then need to set the number of days the offline license is needed up to 60 days. The time limit on offline licenses is a precautionary measure in

    06:32

case the machine becomes inaccessible. The license will automatically be made available once the time period expires.

You are now free to disconnect the machine from the internet. Back in Pixtop Cloud, I can see that the license mode is now set to

    06:48

offline. If you wish to move back to online mode before the expiration date, simply reconnect the machine to the internet, go back to the menu in director and select switch to online

    07:06

mode. If it is not possible to connect a machine to the internet at any time or you need a license longer than 60 days, it is possible to create an airgapped license.

To do this, open Director on the machine. When prompted to log in, click

    07:22

on offline access. You will then be prompted to generate a license request file.

Upload the file to removable media. Move over to a machine with an internet connection and download the license request file from the removable

    07:41

media. Log into your Pixtop cloud account.

Go to the users page and click on request offline license. Click on select a request file and browse to the uploaded

    08:00

file. Select the license you wish to use and confirm.

The license will then be set to offline and locked to the selected machine. Next, click download license to get the license file for the offline machine.

Upload the file to removable media and transfer it to the

    08:17

offline machine. Open director and click apply offline license.

Browse to the offline license file and select it. You'll then be logged into director.

Please note that if the date or time is changed on an

    08:34

offline machine running director after the first launch of the editor, our DRM system will recognize this as tampering and will prevent the launch of the editor. Changing time zones is permitted and will not result in the editor being shut down.

To release an air gap license,

    08:51

there is a two-step process. First of all, on the offline machine, open director.

Go to the menu and select release license. In the release license window that appears, click remove license and generate release request.

This will log you out of

    09:08

director and closes the editor if it is open. The release request will be saved under license.

Upload it to removable media. Download the release request file to a machine with internet access and log in to Pixtop cloud.

Go to the users page and select

    09:25

release on the offline license. Browse to the release request file and click release license.

The license is now released and can now

    09:41

be used on another machine. For more information on this or any other Pixotope subject, please visit the Pixotope help center link in the description.
